SEXUAL HEALTH & WELL-BEING

Why is this important?

Sexual health knowledge is crucial for adolescents to comprehend. Sexual health requires a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, as well as the possibility of having pleasurable and safe sexual experiences, free of coercion, discrimination, and violence.
Research proves that adolescents in low socioeconomic communities tend to have a weaker grasp on sexual health knowledge compared to their affluent peers. This could be due to a lack of education, peer pressure, or less parental supervision. Since many adolescents in low socioeconomic communities engage in sexual activities, it is crucial they comprehend sexual health prior. Comprehensive sexual education has been shown to help to prevent and reduce the risks of adolescent pregnancy, HIV, and sexually transmitted infections.
